Nissan Nismo Concept Watch connects driver and car

Nissan is showing the Nismo Concept Watch at IAA in Frankfurt representing a smartwatch which can connect the driver to its Nismo-prepared Nissan.

Users of Nissan's smartwatch will have the possibility of monitoring the car's efficiency by reading the fuel consumption and average speed data. In addition, they will also be able to access performance data and telematics while on track, as well as obtain biometric data through a heart rate monitor. The Nismo Concept Watch can connect to the car via a smartphone app which will allow the driver to receive tailored car messages from Nissan.

It will be available in three colors (black, white and black & red) and will feature a simple user interface controllable by using two buttons. It has a snap-fit mechanism which secures the smartwatch to the driver's wrist, while charging the lithium-ion battery is done by using a microUSB cable. Under normal usage the battery should provide enough juice for more than seven days.
